Committees

Committees are the backbone of MassNetComms, helping to create the structure, policies and programs that make the organization go. They also provide members with a networking forum--a chance to work directly and forge lasting connections with other industry executives.

Membership Committee

Chair: Paul Gasparro, CEO, MapleWorks

  • Recommends general rules and policies for membership, including dues structure, member benefits, etc.
  • Helps to recruit prospective members

Programs Committee

Chair: Fran Grigsby, President, Next Level International

  • Determines the events that MassNetComms will hold each year
  • Chooses topics and recruits speakers
  • Reviews proposals made by outside organizations for events to be sponsored by or affiliated with MassNetComms

Government Affairs Committee

Chair: Vin Bisceglia, Partner, Genovation Capital

While MassNetComms is not a lobbying organization, we do:

  • Work with state and federal legislators to develop broader policies designed to spur innovation and growth, particularly issues related to workforce development
  • Review specific issues of concern such as taxes, privacy regulations, and telecommunications regulation.
  • Create forums on regulatory or other public issues of interest to council members

Workforce Development Committee

Chair: Greg Sheldon, President, Sheldon Collaborative, Inc.

  • Helps MassNetComms member companies attract and recruit the best talent in the industry
  • Works with the state--particularly the Governor's special IT Collaborative--to retain and generate talent for Massachusetts companies
  • Organizes events such as job fairs, training programs, seminars, and symposia on the issue of workforce development
  • Works with schools to develop the technical talent of students in Massachusetts

Nominating Committee

Chair: Barry Fougere, Principal, Heidrick and Struggles

  • Determines the nominees for election to the MassNetComms Board of Directors
  • Runs the MassNetComms Annual Awards Dinner, selecting Board-elected Award nominees and determining the finalists for the member-voted ballot
