Workforce Development

Massachusetts' most important economic advantage is its incredible talent base. But our state faces constant challenges in producing enough new talent and retaining what we have. MassNetComms works on both fronts, helping to shape statewide policies to address the issues while intervening directly by providing scholarships to promising young technology students.

Working with State Leaders

MassNetComms works with state and federal officials to develop programs and spur investment in key workforce areas, whether it be general support for science and technology education at all levels or it be specific projects related to internship programs, scholarships, etc. MassNetComms is also an active participant in the Governor's special IT Collaborative.

MassNetComms Scholarships

Each year, MassNetComms awards more than 20 scholarships to Massachusetts students pursuing technology degrees at one of the Commonwealth's colleges or universities.

Scholarship recipients include a full range of promising young people--students from urban areas and suburbs, those attending private universities such as MIT and public insitutions such as UMass. Since the program's inception more than a decade ago, MassNetComms has given away more than 250 scholarships to students, many of whom now work at local companies or global companies with operations here in Massachusetts.

How Can You Help with Scholarships?

A significant portion of the MassNetComms Education Fund's support comes from our scholarship golf tournament. The tournament offers companies and individuals excellent networking opportunities, along with a fun day of golf that raises money for a good cause. There are several sponsorship opportunities for this event that is held annually in September. If golf is not your game, we encourage you to make a direct contribution to the fund. The fund is a 501c3 non profit and all donations are tax deductible. Contact Amy Goggins at amy@massnetcomms.org, or 781-684-0880 for more information on sponsorships or direct contributions.
